Week 2 Day 1.

It has been raining here most of the week and been cold, so I have not got my run in lately.  Started the first of week 2 today, and it was not to bad.  My dog, Whitey, has still be going with me and he absolutely loves it.  He helps keep me motivated.

Problems:
I have been fighting through shin splints.  They have been extremely painful, so the extra days b/t because of the rain gave me some time for them to heal.  Wash reading about them, and learned a few things.

Day 3: Week 1.2

Busy day planning for my daughters 3rd birthday.  But did get my run in this morning.  Managed to get my dog out of bed, and go with me this time.  Second day of running was worse than the first.  Will update more later.  Time for bed.

Day 2: Recovery Day

Day 2: Recovery Day
I have found myself extremely sore today, but mainly my core and back.  Not sure why these two places, but maybe I just do not use those muscles at all.  I have been extremely busy at work so most of the soreness is gone now.

Looked around yesterday afternoon for some different C25K podcast.  The ones on C25K were OK, and def. helped with not checking a watch all the time.  Just noticed that sometimes he would say 1,2,3 and never say go.  Also the music while keeping me moving, was not great to listen to.

I found "Go Nicole Yourself" online, and she has some podcast.  The music changes every time your action changes, and the music is a little more up to date.  So I think I will try that tomorrow morning, and see how it works.

So for a little motivation the photo on the left is of my family 2 years ago, and I am even heavier now than in that photo.  The photo on the right is from my senior year in high school.  I know it is unrealistic that I could make it to my high school days, but I would like to loose a few pounds, and most of all just get a little healthier.

Day 1: So it begins...

Yesterday, October 10th, 2011 I felt fat and miserable all day long. Having a 3 year old and new baby on the way has been weighing on my mind that I want to see them grow up, and I want to be involved in their sports and lives. Being obese and having high blood pressure @ 26, so I began to wonder if I would make it that long.

I decided it was time to do something, but nothing to dramatic so I can at least stick to it. Started looking around, and noticed some of my friends had started http://www.c25k.com/ in the past. Not sure how it turned out for anyone else, but I would love to hear about it in the comments below. I started today, and will try to update here when I complete my workout so 3 times a week (Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday). Also decided to switch to diet soda, and try to not eat as much. I WANT TO SEE MY KIDS GROW UP, AND BE INVOLVED!

So it begins...
Got up 45 minutes early (6:45am) so I could start my first day of C25K. I have downloaded the podcast from http://www.c25k.com/. The initial walk was great, and then the first 60 second jog came. I thought I was going to die (I have never been this heavy or out of shape). I pushed through it, and then the second, third, fourth, fifth, six, seven, and finally eighth 60 second jog came and went. I completed day one (turned out to be 2 miles)! It felt great, and I had sometime to myself.

Things I noticed:
I appear to have more energy today than I have had in a long time. Not sure if this relates to starting this or not. The other thing, I am hungrier today, than I have ever been at 5:00pm.
